It reminds me of a current day Band Of Brothers in a way... _________________

following a marine recon unit into iraq early in the war ... the good, bad and ugly aspects of the men that form the unit.
no overdone hollywood soundtrack backing it ... mostly unfamiliar actors ... which, like band of brothers, makes this enjoyable and to some extent believable and not ridiculous.
i've heard arguments from marines that say its accurate to a large degree and then again, arguments that it is exaggerated ... maybe mikezero can offer some insight.
regardless ... it is well done _________________

Agreed. I have seen both exclaimed but I've seen more people state it is realistic for the most part all the way down to the common everyday terms like Whisky Tango. _________________

I watched this whole series while I was in Iraq. It was amazing. And, being in the Marine Corps, I must say it is EXTREMELY realistic. After watching it, I wasn't sure whether or not the people in the series were actors or actual Marines. Obviously some of them were actors; like their BC (Godfather) because I have seen him in other movies. But a lot of the other characters were actually a lot like guys I know in my platoon.
All in all, I was very impressed. I highly recommend to anyone who doesn't mind a lot of swearing. There really wasn't too much blood and gore at all, but I think if they showed how much those guys actually did see (all the blood and such) it just would have detracted from the overall story they were telling. _________________ I put the sensual in non-consensual |
