Well, our older PC is starting to show it's age and is starting to act like a cantankerous old man. So we decided it's time for a rebuild. We'll be reusing the case, drives, ps, and vid card to keep costs down. I'm trying to keep it around $300. Since this is really my first build, any advice would be much appreciated.

Here's what I'm looking at getting.

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-770T-USB3 AM3 AMD 770 USB 3.0 ATX AMD
CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 630 Propus 2.8GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core
Memory: Crucial 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600

Currently have:

PS: 550W Antec TruPower TP2-550
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce 9600GT

I'd up your power supply while you have it broken apart. You can get some that are much more powerful and this will allow you to upgrade in the future more easily, plus give you a nice stable system for the new bits.

The parts are on the way. Any advice before I get them and start taking everything out of the PC and putting the new stuff in?

The rebuild is done and everything appears to be running smoothly. I was surprised that it only took about 10-15 minutes to install Vista. Now just working on installing all the small stuff and then will start installing the games.
